Mid-State Technical College will host its inaugural Chalk the College event on Saturday, July 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Stevens Point Downtown Campus. All community members are invited to register for the event.
Spots are limited, so artists are encouraged to register as soon as possible. A $10 registration fee is required and will be accepted until July 18. Artists can register online or in-person with cash or check at any Mid-State location.
“Chalk the College is part of a yearlong celebration marking the 10th anniversary of our Stevens Point campus being located downtown,” said Ben Nusz, Dean of the Stevens Point Downtown Campus. “To highlight the anniversary, one of the judging criteria encourages participants to draw inspiration from the number 10, the city of Stevens Point or even the former mall that once stood where our campus is today. Other themes include showcasing Mid-State’s academic programs and school spirit.”
The top three artists will receive Visa gift cards, with winners judged on artistic merit and how well they incorporate one of the Mid-State themes into their design.
In addition to the chalk contest, attendees can enjoy food from the Baked ‘N Loaded food truck, free Mid-State Cranberry Cougar Swirl ice cream and guided tours of the campus.
